bionaire saves the nose
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I don't readily praise a product. I waited for the 2 month span of one filter set to write this review, in case my initial enthusiasm proved unfounded. Here is the essential story: the litter box spoiled our once livable basement despite my frequent cleaning (3 or 4 times a day!),experiments with different litters, odor absorbers, scented candles, incense, and litter powders. From the day I resolved to risk $120 on this cute little spaceship - actually from the day it arrived - life has been more than bearable in the basement; except for cleaning it twice a day, I don't even notice it. I've missed a whole day now and then, and still it does the job. Stamp of Approval!

disappointed
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
i have 9 rescue cats and use scoopaway. 4 of my rescues had a cold/conjunctivitis. while they were separated in a spare bedroom by themselves while on their medications i decided to try this box in a 12x12 room with a 2nd regular box. boxes were scooped 3x day, sometimes 4. the room smelled. I actually purchased a second one to replace the open box. no change.
the cats bathroom has 4 boxes, one under the sink, one covered and 2 open in use by the other 5 cats during this time running the bathroom fan and scooping twice per day with less odor than the room with the bionaire
The entire outside of the boxes within hours of being plugged in were covered with the litter dust which the interior fan removes rapidly when adding litter. despite cleaning the outside, the thick film of dust returns.
the pan depth is to low. litter is everywhere outside of the box. One is too large for the box, went in, didn't turn around, didn't know her butt was hanging out the front. The litter scoop holder gets urine/litter in it through the open slots. hoping i can return the boxes.
i would recommend trying one for a single cat household (small female that doesn't dig a lot) if you dont mind the outside of the box being covered in dust.

Bionaire is great
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have tried every type of litter box, smell eliminating product, litter, etc. out there to keep the awful smell away. This was my last try before making new kitty live outside. I can't believe how well this works. I am considering buying another one for the downstairs. I love this litter box.

Worth it!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was nervous when I bought the Bionaire Litter Box. It's a new product with few reviews, and $100 seemed really expensive, but in our 690 square ft condo we couldn't afford to be stingy about the price if it could cut down on smell. I bought it, crossed my fingers, and saved the receipt.

So far so good! We've had it for a month, and our tiny condo doesn't smell like cat at all! Our friends are amazed that we even have a cat because of the absence of odor. Here are a few things you should know if you are considering buying one of these:

- We let our cat use this WITHOUT plugging in the filter for one week, so he could get used to it. After the one week was over we plugged it in and he has been using it ever since (and we have a really skittish cat)
- I use half clumping, unscented litter and half crystal litter
- The noise was a little weird at first, but we don't notice it any more
- Even though it may not smell, always remember to scoop ever day or every other day to prevent urinary tract infections. Once a week we completely empty the box and refill with fresh litter

rockin on the noxious cat poo toxin
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
very effective at minimizing litter box odor. I have one cat and use the world's best cat litter original strength. After one month of use I hardly smell anything except when I raise the dome and scoop the poo. then I smell it so I know the filter is working. It is not very noisy. My critique is that my cat sticks his butt in it and has his front feet outside then reaches in to cover the detritus but causes a mess of litter out side the box. Bionaire should get together with the booda dome clean step and the robot self cleaning box and have all three features is one. That would be high class.
