smaller pieces fall through
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This box is great. The only issue I have to make me give it 4 out of 5 stars is the small pieces. The mechanism to lift the used cat liter out of the box has gaps in it which allows small pieces to fall through for me to have to scoop out. Very small problem vs. the scooping of the entire litter box! (pre-automatic) At this point (less than a week) my cat still thinks its a toy. She uses it, then plays in it. It makes a very small ratcheting sound which my cat is mesmerized with wanting to find out what that noise is!

How did I live without this???
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this litter box! I've used the Littermate one before and ended up returning it as it was a giant mess but this box is awesome! Incredibly quiet, you don't even know it's there. It says it's for 12# cats but mine are considerably bigger (16#) and they both use it just fine. I can go three days before dumping the container. I love that you don't have to buy any additional supplies - truly economical. I have dumped the container twice and I still don't need to add litter. Love it!

Pet safe Litter Box - mostly good, but learning to use it
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The petsafe continuous clean litter box works very well if everything is set up exactly right, but I'm still learning how to ensure everything is optimal. It's very important to have the litter up to the line, and type of litter matters, ie. Arm and Hammer Superscoop works better than Arm and Hammer multicat. It seems to break the clumps into tiny pieces sometimes, making it hard to keep the litter clean. I scoop it once per day to try to get all lumps out.

Positives:
The two cats, one young and one old, took to it without any problem, and seem to like it. There is very little spillage of litter or missing the box (which happened with my old litter box). Also, it runs very quietly, and is not too unattractive in an open location (my only option).

In summary, I like it, but wish it was more consistent in clumping the litter. There is a definite learning curve. I am going to try other brands of clumping litter to see if there is one that works best. Generally, I recommend this unit. I am able to avoid constant scooping of the litter box, which was my goal in getting this one.

Was a good product for two weeks . . .
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Before purchasing the Simply Clean litter box, I read all the reviews and decided to take a chance. I have two cats, one of which is at the top of the weight limit but she has always adapted well to change. It took me a little while to switch over to the Simply Clean (I was using the Scoop Free litter box) but I was able to do so before leaving for vacation. In the week before, I never heard the box making any noise at all. It was great. All I had to do was change the waste bag. I was worried that the waste bin was not big enough, but when we returned from vacation all we had to do was change the waste bag again. Everything had worked out fine. At that time, I decided that I must write a positive review. Then the next day on July 3 at about 5 p.m., we returned home to hear a strange clicking noise. We traced the sound to the litter box. At first I thought that something was stuck but I could find nothing wrong. I referred to the user manual to find that I needed to call customer service if the litter box made a clicking noise. Unfortunately for us, they were closed for the holiday. As a result, I now have an expensive litter box that I have to clean a couple of times a day. Yuck!!! At first I was going to wait until I received a reply from the manufacturer before writing a review and then I thought about the fact that the thing only worked for about two weeks - which is ridiculous and unacceptable. Durability is an important part of making a quality product. While the litter box is functional it is clearly not durable.

Good Value!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Great value for the price. I am using silica gel litter and even though it's a little bit noisy it's not louder than the fridge or the fish tank. If the noise bothers you switch to a finer grain litter. My cat loves it and I love how easy it is to clean and maintain!
