If the clump that the box is trying to scoop is too big, it just keeps trying to scoop it about 5 times, and then it gives up. And I end up having to scoop for it. This happens everyday. Can you imagine paying over $100 for a self-cleaning litter box, and then having to do it's work for it? My husband feels the problem is the gear mechanism - it doesn't create enough power behind the scooping action to deal with anything but the lightest ball of waste. I have an older Littermaid, and it is still doing it's job, as it has everyday for years. I am sticking with Littermaid from now on. This doesn’t have enough power
